How to start doing something...
Check on your friends: Have the conversations. Just like we all checked-in with each other through covid, let’s ask each other how we’re doing through this. It needs to be bothering all of us.
Sign the petitions + donate to fundraisers for the victims we’ve learned about in May
Breonna Taylor, a Louisville EMT murdered by police in her own home.
Louisville Defense Club, organizers in Louisville, Kentucky–have created a community bail fund for protestors.
Ahmaud Barbery, a young Georgia man murdered while jogging.
George Floyd, a man incorrectly identified as “involved in a forgery case”, murdered by three Minneapolis policemen pinning him down with their knees.
GoFundMe for his family
The Minnesota Freedom Fund, a grassroots organization currently working with the National Lawyers Guild and the Legal Rights Center, will use donations to bail out arrested protestors and to supply those on the field.
Black Visions Collective, one of the groups in MN doing the groundwork.
Sean Monterrosa, a local activist murdered by Vallejo policemen while on his knees.
